By not creating a back to school list, not knowing what stores to shop at to save money and not setting a back to school budget, you could end up spending too much money and not getting your child all their needed back to school supplies. Learn how to save money on back to school shopping for your kids and save lots of money.

  1. Step 1
     

    CREATE A BACK TO SCHOOL SHOPPING LIST:
    Make a list of all the supplies your child will need. Some teachers
    will provide you with certain supplies your child may need. Be sure to
    include that list in your master school supply list to ensure you don't
    miss anything.

  2. Step 2
     

    SET A BUDGET TO SAVE MONEY ON BACK TO SCHOOL SHOPPING:
    Save money on back to school shopping by setting a budget. Set a
    certain amount that you want to dedicate to school shopping. This way,
    you will not go over your limit and not spending more than you planned on.

  3. Step 3
     

    SHOP AT STORES WHERE THERE ARE SALES AND DISCOUNTS TO SAVE MONEY ON BACK TO SCHOOL SHOPPING:
    Save money by shopping at stores with sales and discounts. You can find lots of discounted back to school items at Dollar Stores. Try shopping at stores such as Walmart, Ross, TJ Max and Kmart for clothing and Dollar Stores for school supplies.

    COMPARE PRICES AND USE COUPONS:
    You can do a price comparison online to see what stores have back to
    school sales and what stores are offering coupons for certain items to
    save on back to school items.
