There are several natural ways to de-worm your companion animals.Some people prefer not to give their dogs or cat anything that is not natural. Others do not live near a veterinarian, or cannot afford veterinary care and would like to try to de-worm their animals without incurring the cost of a vet visit. Internal parasites can make your pet very sick, and in some cases, can be life-threatening.       Purchase food-grade diatomaceous earth, this is the only type of diatomaceous earth that is safe to ingest. It is widely used for livestock and poultry to rid the animals of internal parasites.

      Mix some diatomaceous earth in with your pet's food. Mix 1/4 of a teaspoon of diatomaceous earth for a small dog, for larger dogs you need to add about a full teaspoon. You don't have to be precise, just close to this amount.

      Repeat this once a day for one month, and you will see a big difference with your pet or livestock. The diatomaceous earth gets rid of internal parasites, making your pet feel better and look better.

      Provide herbal remedies for your pet if you prefer not to use diatomaceous earth. Herbal remedies for internal parasites such as worms include wormwood, Ruta graveolens, cloves and neem oil. These herbal preparations help restore the stomach's natural state and keep your pet free of worms. Always follow package directions when using herbal remedies.

  • After giving the diatomaceous earth to your pet for a month, you can then discontinue. You should maintain a scheduled worming every 4-6 months, to make sure your pet or livestock remain parasite free.
