Building a campfire can be a whole lot of fun. Whether you're sitting around the fire at night singing camp songs or simply sitting there to stay warm, either way you'll most probably enjoy it. This how to will walk you though the steps needed to create your very own.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Firewood (branches, sticks and other types of wood).
  • Matches lighter or anything you can use to start a fire.
  • Large rocks.
  • Small twigs and dry brush.
  1. Step 1

You should start off by collecting lots of huge rocks. Line these rocks around the perimeter of where you plan to burn the fire. The rocks will serve as a barrier to prevent the fire from spreading.

  2. Step 2

Collect branches, sticks and other forms of wood. Pile collected wood in the middle in such a way that the rocks are surrounding it.

  3. Step 3

Take some light brush or twigs and bunch them together under some of the firewood.

  4. Step 4

Light a match and start the brush and small twigs on fire first. Keep feeding the fire with small pieces of wood until the fire become strong enough to burn on its own.

Tips & Warnings
  • To get the fire burning you want to start by burning smaller sicks and branches first and then gradually go larger.
  • Fire is very hot. Make sure you don't touch it or the surrounding rocks. The rocks may be hot too.
  • Build your fire out in the open and away from anything that could burn.
