Recipe for a very tasty beef stew.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Get you ingredients together:

    1-pound Stew Meet
    1-Cup Flour
    2-Bags Frozen Mixed Vegetables
    5-Large Potatoes Pealed and diced
    2-Large Fresh Carrots(Optional)
    2-Small Can Tomato Sauce
    1/2-Cup Ketchup
    2-Tablespoons Cooking oil
    Pepper
    Salt
    Garlic Powder
    Large Stew Pot
    Water

  2. Step 2

Place your oil into the pot on medium heat. While it is heating, spread your stew meat out on a surface. Season, then coat in flour. After the cooking oil is hot, place your coated meat inside the pot. Cook until browned well.

  3. Step 3

Add water after the meat is browned. The amount of water will depend on the size of your pot. I fill my pot about half way. Add the water slowly at first, this will keep the flour from lumping. Turn on hi heat until it comes to a slight boil.

  4. Step 4

Reduce the heat to medium after the water is at a slight boil. Add your potatoes, Mixed Vegetables, Carrots, tomato sauce and ketchup. Now don't forget the ketchup, it adds a lot of the flavor. Then season to taste.

  5. Step 5

Bring to a slight boil again, then cover and cook for about an hour, or until the potatoes are cooked well.

This beef stew recipe makes a very tasty stew. You can serve with crackers, rolls, or plain white bread. Remember this is just a recipe, play around with it a little if you wish, to make it your own.

Tips & Warnings
  • Do not burn the Stew Meat
  • Stir occasionally to be sure the potatoes do not stick to the bottom
