Many think that nursing homes and retirement homes are places that the elderly should reside. This is not the case. If you just take a moment to see that you yourself can care for the elderly too.

They have so many stories to speak of about past times and or wars that they may have been around to see or be in. elderly do not ask for much. There may be an occasional card game they would enjoy playing. There are many volunteer programs that you can join to sit, read, or just listen to elderly people whom have no family members left.

      Contact a local nursing home to see if there are any volunteers need to help out with the daily activities. Do a neighborhood walk to introduce yourself to near by elderly. Inform them that you are there to help with what ever they may need. Elderly need to know that there is someone that cares for their well being.

Visit them with medical supplies, incase they are to ill to make it to the doctors office or to the pharmacy. Your assistance with this will be appreciated.
