Buy a Great Baby Shower Gift

Baby showers can be fun, looking at all the tiny clothes and toys. But, how do you buy something the new parents will actually want, need and use? Here are some tips on how to buy a great baby shower gift.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

First check to see if the parent(s) have a baby gift registry set up. The most common places for these are BabiesRUs, Target and The Pottery Barn. With the registry the parent(s) will have chosen exactly what they want or need. This way you can be sure they are going to get what they really want.

  2. Step 2

If the parent(s) want an item that is out of your budget, contact another guest and see if he/she would like to split the cost of the gift. Often time parents register for carseats, bassinets and Pack n' Plays, these items can be expensive but really needed.

  3. Step 3

If you want to buy clothes, remember the size season you are buying for. If the baby is to be born in the summer months, then a newborn size snow suit would not be needed.

  4. Step 4

If all else fails a gift card is always appreciated. That way the parent(s) can get whatever they still need after the shower.
