How to create a Tutu in any size.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

using measuring tape, measure the waist of the person who will wear the tutu.
Measure down from the waist line to determine what length you would like the tutu to be

  2. Step 2

Cut elastic banding approximately 4" shorter than the waist measurement. Pin the ends together and try it on. If you prefer tighter, shorten it.
Using a sewing machine, sew the ends of the elastic together to create a large circle. Sew over it several times using varying stitches.

  3. Step 3

Take desired length measurement, times it by 2, and add 1.5 inches. Cut your tulle into strips that length and 2" wide. If you like the look of wider tulle panels, try 3" or 4" wide.

  4. Step 4

fold tulle strip in half, place one layer of elastic circle over the looped end of the tulle, push ends of tulle through the looped end, circling over the elastic. Pull tight. Repeat with all pieces of tulle until you have your desired fullness.
