Organize Your Photos and pictures

Organizing pictures can seem like a daunting task but these steps will help to simplify the process and help you to keep your treasured memories organized and sorted.

Step 1

Don't try to organize all of your photos in one sitting. Give yourself a reasonable time limit and get your photos spread out on a surface where you can see all of them. Make sure you have a destination place for each photo whether it be in an album, a frame, a scrapbook or a photo storage container.
Step 2

Remove any photos you do not want to keep and any ones that are blurry, or have people with eyes closed, etc. Consider giving any duplicate pictures to people or tossing them if you can't use them. It helps in organizing pictures to first put them into broad categories such as family, friends, nature, travel, etc.
Step 3

Once you have your general piles consider how you'd prefer your picture organizing to take place. Do you want to sort them by category, chronologically, by subject, by event and so on? Begin sorting in whatever way you choose to be most efficient. Using plastic sleeves work great as photo organizers before you put them in their final destination. It makes it easy to clean up your photo organizing for the next session and see the pictures immediately.
Step 4

A tip for organizing pictures is wise to label the photos as you go. If your photos are going directly into boxes or photo storage containers put them directly into them after labeling them. If they are going into scrapbooks or albums you will want to design the pages. Frame and display some of your favorite photo shots so everyone can enjoy the memories.
