Things You'll Need:
- A medium size shoe box
- White tissue paper
- A cutting knife
- Small white silk flowers
- Small leafed Ivy
- Floral foam
- Tulle for the bow
- Poster putty
- 2 white battery operated candles
-
Step 1
Go to a shoe store and ask for empty shoe boxes, places like payless and shoeshow are good places to start.
-
Step 2
Next, ball up newspaper and fill your box with the newspaper, add a few small rocks this will make the box more sturdy.
Wrap the shoe box with white tissue paper, you will need to make sure that you use enough pieces of the tissue so the cannot see through the tissue paper. Also make sure that you have no tape showing on the outside of the box. Make sure you do all your taping on the bottom of the box, any tape showing would look tacky!
After the box is covered with tissue, cut a 3" x 3" square hole in the center of the box. Use a sharp cutter so you do not rip the tissue paper. -
Step 3
Using a 3" x 3" piece of foam (foam should have about a 3" thickness)
Put the foam into the square hole in your shoe box. Arrange your silk flowers in the foam. Loosely tie a a piece of tulle around the bottom of the floral arrangement and make a bow, fluff bow. -
Step 4
Next cut 2 pieces of ivy long enough to drape over both sides of the flowers.
Use the ivy with small leaves.Do not use large leafed ivy! -
Step 5
Next, attach your candles, use poster putty to secure them in place.
I would attach the candles the day of the wedding, moving the centerpiece around too much can cause the candles to fall over and tear your tissue paper.
Since the candles are battery operated, have someone to add the batteries just before the reception begins.
