When considering selling your vehicle, one must ask, "what's my car worth?" The car owner might see their car worth much more than what the customer has in mind. Before listing a car for sale, it is very important to get the correct figure of car worth in order to get the most money out of selling your car.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Go to the Kelly Blue Book website at www.kbb.com. This is a trusted website that uses information from a variety of sources to give you the most accurate figure of car worth.

  2. Step 2

You'll need to type in your zip code, as car worth can vary depending on location.

  3. Step 3

In the Used Cars box, use the drop down menus to select your car's year, model and make.

  4. Step 4

Then you'll need to select the Kelly Blue Book Value. The Trade in Value is what you can expect to get for your car if to take it to a dealer. Private Party Value is the amount of money that this car is worth when selling to a private party. The Suggested Retail Value is what a car dealer would ask for when selling this car.

  5. Step 5

You will need to submit more information like trim, mileage, equipment, engine size, and more to give an accurate description of the car.

  6. Step 6

The next page will ask you about the overall rating of the car from poor to excellent. You will need to honestly asses your car to get a correct car worth value.

  7. Step 7

You are then presented with a car worth value for your vehicle. Now you are ready to sell!
