Things You'll Need:
- Tomato plants
- Fish emulsion (liquid fish)
- Garden trowel
- Water Bucket
-
Step 1
Choose an area of your property that gets at least 6 hours of direct sunlight.
-
Step 2
Make sure your planting area has loose or well-tilled soil.
-
Step 3
Use your garden trowel to dig a hole approximately 6 inches deep and 6 inches wide.
-
Step 4
Mix liquid fish emulsion according to directions on bottle into your bucket.
-
Step 5
Remove tomato plant from plastic growing container. Place in hole and add your mixture of fish emulsion and water. Add just enough to make your plant float.
-
Step 6
Pull soil from sides into hole and gently press to allow good soil contact.
-
Step 7
Water your tomatoes every other day for the first week.
-
Step 8
Once a week for the first 3 weeks apply a quart of the fish emulsion and water mixture to each plant. Be sure to pour mixture over the entire plant as fish emulsion is a foliar feed. Remember, this is in addition to your regular watering schedule.
-
Step 9
Stand back and watch your plants jump towards the sky. This process is well-tested and can easily produce 150 pounds of tomatoes from 10 plants.
