1. First, collect all the junk mail from your mailbox.

2. For the companies sending prepaid envelopes with their junk, stuff the junk mail they sent into the prepaid envelope and send it back to that company if their address is on the outside envelope. This way they can throw away or recycle by reusing their own junk mail.

   If they did not leave their address, send it to another junk mail company that has left you their address or keep the envelope to mail something else. This way you get a little compensation for opening their junk mail since you will not have to spend money on a stamp.

3. For the billing companies that send you junk mail with your bill, make sure you send it back with your payment.

4. A more direct way to stop junk mail is to write Direct Marketing Association, Change your address in the phone book to just a phone line, call the company and request to be removed, or become a member of GreenDimes.com.

5. For a more drastic approach, if you really hate junk mail that much or are already doing this, you can move. Do not fill out a permanent change of address, just a temporary one at the post office and then call the companies (like your bill companies) that you want to change your mailing address on. This will significantly reduce your junk mail.
