How to Make Christmas Ornaments From Recycled Christmas Cards

Love getting Christmas cards but hate the thought of just throwing them out? If you are looking for a way to recycle your old Christmas cards, making Christmas decorations from them is a frugal and fun idea to reuse your old Christmas cards. You can even use that box of Christmas cards that you bought last year with the good intentions of mailing them out but never got around to sending them.

This is a fun family craft that everyone will enjoy.

Things You'll Need:

• Christmas cards
• Scissors
• Glue
• Glitter
• Cookie Cutters

1. Using Christmas cookie cutters, trace around the cookie cutter onto the Christmas card. Try to position the cookie cutter over an interesting pattern or word on the Christmas card. If you are a scrapbooker with die cutting equipment you can also cut out designs with it.

2. Cut out the shapes from the Christmas cards. If you want your ornament to be a little thicker and sturdier, cut two pieces for each ornament.

3. Glue the wrong sides together so that the right sides are facing out. Now you can decorate your Christmas ornament. Squeeze white school glue to outline and make patterns on the recycled Christmas card. Shake glitter onto the glue and tap off the excess.

4. Punch a hole in the top of the Christmas ornament and use ribbon or a string to make a loop for hanging it on the Christmas tree.
