Speaking in public is something most people get nervous about. The fear of making a fool of yourself publicly by flubbing your lines or forgetting your words is commonplace. But, standing in front of a crowd and appearing confident takes work, and knowing how to relax before and during the speech is something that can be learned. The art of public speaking gets easier the more you do it, so take a deep breath, relax and show the audience that you're a master of your subject.

      Breathe during the speech. When people are filled with stress and anxiety, they tense up and forget to breathe. Take a second to catch your breath. Finish a sentence and wait a beat before speaking again.
