Get a 50's clock at an antique store, that has the spikes all the way around it. Or the clock that has sticks with balls on the end all the way around it. This is very distinctive for your wall. Put covers on your furniture in white or retro color. Then get 2 or 3 retro lamps for the room. You are in the 50's mood now!!!! It's fun to change your look out for a few months, then go back and forth every few months.

You need an amoeba shaped coffee table, very retro. Shag run would do if you can't find a 50's print rug. Go for the true color of that time. The black and white, or turquoise and pink, or red and white, or the retro green. They are very true to that time.
