-
Step 1
Vacuum Wicker Furniture with a brush attachment at least once a month.
-
Step 2
Use a small stiff brush such as a nail brush to loosen dirt in crevices and vacuum off all loose dirt with your brush attachment every 3 to 4 months to prevent a dirt build up.
-
Step 3
Scrub with a toothbrush dipped in soapy water, shake off all excess water so the brush is just damp to remove hard to get at built up dirt in the Wicker Furniture.
-
Step 4
Use a soft cloth slightly damped with water and a mild soap to remove any other stains. Immediately follow with a dry cloth.
-
Step 5
To remove mildew or mold stains use a 50-50 solution of bleach and water on a rag. Always test a hidden spot for colorfastness. Do this outdoors and allow the Wicker Furniture to sit in the sun to thoroughly dry.
-
Step 6
Never keep Wicker Furniture outdoors. Wicker will be ruined by the outside elements. If your Wicker does get wet, do not sit on it, your will weaken the wicker further. Remove all cushions and place in the direct sun to completely dry.
-
Step 7
Sand down any sharp or stray pieces of wicker. Use a fine grit sandpaper.
-
Step 8
Apply a coat of furniture polish 2 to 3 times per year to keep dirt from sticking to the wicker.
-
Step 9
Seal natural color wicker with a non-yellowing shellac to reduce the chances of staining.
