How to Learn Spoken English with Software

English is the most used language in the world. For those in non-English-speaking countries looking to make their way into business, hospitality, politics or any number of other professions, learning English will be essential. One of the best ways to learn the language is through computer software. The software will provide both audio and visual instruction, which will help increase the saturation of the language and help you learn it faster.

1. Decide what form of English you would like to learn. Typically you will be able to find either British or American English. There will be many different words and phrases spoken with each. However, you will for the most part be able to understand everything that is being said in the other version of the language.

2. Situate yourself in a room free of distractions and noise. Trying to learn a new language while the television is on in the background will be difficult, and it will take far longer to understand the concepts than it would if you were giving the task your undivided attention.

3. Take it slowly if possible. Learning a language is not a race. You do not want to see how quickly you can reach the end of the program. The goal is to learn the language, and if that means you have to stay on one lesson for a week or two, then that's fine. It is more impressive to understand a new language than to complete language software quickly.

4. Study as often as you can. The more you immerse yourself in the new language, the more you will learn and the faster you will learn. If you can set aside a bit of your time in the morning and then review the lesson in the evening, it will help solidify the material you're studying.

5. Practice, practice, then practice some more. The goal of the software is to, in the end, not need the software. Do not take multiple-day breaks. The longer you take a break, the less information you will retain, especially when you are starting out.
