How to Customize Alienware Laptops
Alienware is a computer company that specializes in making desktop and laptop computers for gamers. The brand is owned by Dell Computers; Dell offers online customization of most of its available computers. Customizing an Alienware laptop allows you to design a gaming laptop to meet your budget, style and gaming needs. Everything from the look of the laptop to the storage space, graphics, memory and processors can be customized through Alienware's online store.

Go to Alienware.com to begin customizing the laptop (see link in References). Click Products > Laptops. Select the base model you want to customize from the menu that appears. Base model laptops are listed from low-end to high-end. Click on the model you want to customize.

Scroll down until you see "Customize" located on the right hand side of the screen. Click this button to go to the Customization page. At the bottom of the customization window (shows up in the middle of some web browsers), you will see a menu bar that scrolls side to side, detailing each part that can be customized, starting with the external color.

Select the option you want for each feature of the laptop. When you are finished with a section (such as Operating System or Graphics), click "Continue Customizing" to go to the next feature. You can skip through to different features and upgrades by clicking the feature icons across the lower part of the screen. For example, if you want to skip to Graphics, click the "Graphics" image and word and you are taken to that part of the customization process.

Select each custom component to suit your needs and budget. The current price and features you have chosen are displayed to the right-hand side of the screen.
Since Alienware laptops are designed for gaming, you will be given the option to choose between multiple levels of components ranging from mid-range to high-end components. For example, you may be given the choice between five different kinds of hard drives with differences in speed, space and maker. Prices are indicated next to each upgrade option along the way.
