Place the pattern over the two fabrics and cut them out. One fabric will be the outer fabric and one will be the lining fabric. Cut out a piece of fusible batting that is the same shape as the pattern but a half-inch smaller on every side.

-
3
Place the outer fabric piece with the wrong side up on a work surface and place the fusible batting piece on top with the fusing side facing up. The fabric piece will extend a half-inch around the outside of the fusible batting.
-
4
Fold the fabric up and around the fusible batting and iron the fabric to the batting. Be careful not to touch the iron to the batting, because the batting will melt onto your iron.
-
5
Lay out the lining fabric piece with the wrong side up and fold the same half-inch up around each edge. Iron this fold.
-
6
Place the outer fabric piece and the lining fabric piece together with the wrong sides facing each other, then pin to secure. Sew the pieces together to sandwich the batting and finish the edges.
-
7
Cut a 4-inch length of Velcro and separate the two sides. Place one side of the Velcro onto the outside fabric between points B and D. Place the other side of the Velcro onto the lining fabric between points B and D.
-
8
Wrap the cup insulator around a cup and fasten with Velcro.
