Today, I will be installing a trailer wiring harness on a Chevy Express van. I have already installed the trailer towing hitch. So let’s get started, just follow the steps below to continue.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Open up the trunk area. There’s a panel on the passenger side. Remove that panel.

  2. Step 2

You should find a plug. That’s where you are going to plug the wiring harness into.

  3. Step 3

Attach your ground wire to the vehicle. Find a good part on the van and drill a hole. Then screw the wire onto the body of the van.

  4. Step 4

Now connect the connectors. So that’s it, if you are doing a passenger van, installation is complete. But since I’m doing a work van, I will run the wiring harness down to the hitch. If I leave it in the van, it will get damaged really quickly. There’s a mounting bracket that you mount on the bumper, then you can buy an extension to extend the wiring harness. Hook up your wiring harness to the mounting bracket and you are done.
