In today's economic environment, we are all eager to find ways of earning some extra money in our spare time. Taking online surveys is one of the easiest ways to make a little extra pocket change, and the Consumer Advisory Group is one of the better survey research sites that you will find online. Some research companies that recruit survey takers expect users to spend half and hour answering tedious and repetitive questions in exchange for sweepstakes entries or points that take forever to add up to a level at which they can be redeemed for cash or prizes. If you sign up with the Consumer Advisory Group, you will not be expected to take surveys that require more than ten, or, at most, fifteen, minutes of your time. And you won't have to wait weeks or months for your reward. In most cases, you will receive a five dollar Reward Choice certificate from Hallmark Insights as payment for successfully completing a survey. This certificate can be redeemed for a gift card for purchases at a store of your choice from a number of popular retailer, including Amazon, Target, Home Depot, Borders, Pier One, and Kohl's. It's easy! And all you need is a computer with internet access, an e-mail account, and a few free minutes in which to answer a handful of questions.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • internet access
  • an active e-mail address
  1. Step 1

Apply for the Consumer Advisory Group's survey panel at www.consumeradvisorygroup.com by clicking on the "Join Now" link and filling out the registration form. You will be asked to provide your e-mail address, a password, and some basic demographic information, including your age, gender, marital and employment status, occupation, education level, and income range.

  2. Step 2

Consumer Advisory Group will consider your application to determine whether it has slots available for survey takers with your demographic background. If your application is accepted, you will receive a welcome e-mail within ten to fifteen days.

  3. Step 3

After you have been officially selected for the panel, you will begin to receive invitations to take specific surveys by email. The number of survey invitations that you receive will vary depending on how many surveys are available and whether your specific demographic information meets the criteria for the survey. Generally, you can expect to receive between three and five survey invitations a month.

  4. Step 4

When you receive a survey invitation in you e-mail inbox, open the message and click on the link provided in the text. You will be taken to the survey. Most surveys offer a paid incentive, but some do not. You will be informed in the survey invitation e-mail whether you will receive a reward for successfully completing the survey. You are under no obligation to take any survey, and you will not be removed from the panel if you choose not to take a survey that does not offer a reward.

  5. Step 5

Complete the survey and submit it.

  6. Step 6

If you were offered a reward for successful completion of the survey that you took, you will receive an email from Hallmark Insights containing a link through which you can claim your $5 Reward Choice certificate. You have thirteen months from the time the certificate is awarded to claim it and redeem it for a gift card.

  7. Step 7

Clicking the link in the email from Hallmark Insights will take you to a page where you can redeem your Reward Choice certificate for a $5 gift card. You will be presented with a list of retailers and restaurants, including Amazon.com, Borders, Barnes & Noble, Kohl's, Pier One, Home Depot, Target, and Applebee's, to name just a few. If you choose to redeem your certificate for an Amazon.com gift card, then a virtual gift card will be e-mailed to you within hours after you submit your request. For most other retailers, a physical gift card will be mailed to your home address.

Tips & Warnings
  • You won't get rich by taking online surveys for the Consumer Advisory Group. But those $5 gift certificates can add up! If you save them rather than spending them immediately, after a few weeks or months, you will have enough to buy someone you know--or yourself--a very nice present!
  • On occasion, a survey will come with pre-qualification questions. You may answer a few demographic questions and then be shown a screen that tells you that you do not qualify to take the remainder of the survey. If that happens, you will not receive the $5 Reward Choice certificate; rewards are contingent on successfully completing the entire survey.
  • Sometimes, the Consumer Advisory Group survey panel is "full," meaning that the company has enough survey takers to take available surveys at the present time. During this time, membership in the panel is by "invitation only." If you try to sign up and receive this message, you have two options. First, you can simply wait a few days or weeks and then check back to see whether membership has opened up to the general public again. Second, you can contact customer service at the Consumer Advisory Group at support@consumeradvisory.com and ask when slots on the panel will become available and whether you can be sent an invitation.
