There are many drug treatments for erectile dysfunction (ED) on the market, and although they all increase sexual performance, they work in different ways and should be taken carefully. Viagra, Cialis and Levitra are all popular medications, and each one offers different benefits to improve performance. In order to determine which sexual enhancer is suitable for you, it is necessary to speak with your physician and ask about the medication's possible side effects and potential interactions with any current medication you might be taking.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Compare medication result times. Viagra and Cialis work in as little as 30 minutes, and should be taken before engaging in sexual activity for the best results. While Viagra lasts for up to four hours, Cialis increases the blood flow to the penis only until orgasm is achieved. Levitra can take up to an hour before it starts working.

  2. Step 2

Decide how often you want to take the medication. Cialis offers two options for its medication: Cialis Daily and Cialis 36 Hour. Similar to daily supplements, Cialis Daily is suitable if you want to the option of getting an erection at any time throughout the day, whereas Cialis 36 Hour is taken only when you want to have sex at that moment. Levitra and Viagra are to be taken only when you plan to have sex within 30 to 60 minutes after taking the medication.

  3. Step 3

Be aware of the side effects. Cialis' side effects include upset stomach, back pain, stuffy or runny nose and muscle aches. These side effects should go away within 48 hours after taking the medication. Levitra can cause dizziness, flushing, headaches and in rare cases a change in color vision. Viagra's side effects include headaches and dizziness, and in rare cases may cause blurred vision or light sensitivity.

  4. Step 4

Determine its safety in relation to your pre-existing conditions. If you take medication for heart problems or high blood pressure, you should speak with your doctor before using any of these medications. Any medication that contains nitrates in it should not be used while taking ED medication. Cialis, Levitra and Viagra should not be taken in combination with other recreational drugs called "poppers," because amyl nitratre and/or butyl nitrate is an active ingredient in the poppers and can cause adverse reactions.

Tips & Warnings
  • Always purchase erectile dysfunction medications from a licensed medical professional.
