Drawing

Drawing animals may be easier than you think. If you choose basic animals and separate the different parts of the animals into easy shapes, you can create drawings and help children learn to draw animals as well. Once they see how to use shapes to create the animals they know, they will be excited to draw a variety of different creatures.

Instructions

  1. Draw a Penguin

    • 1

Draw a large oval for the penguin's body and a small circle for the head.

    • 2

Add two wings beginning on either side of the head and extending down the sides of the body. Draw two small webbed feet under the oval.

    • 3

Draw the penguin's beak and one black eye.

    • 4

Fill in the color of the penguin. Make the wings and part of the head black. Make the feet and the beak orange.

    Draw a Lion

    • 5

Draw a u-shape for the lion's head. Add an ear at each top corner.

    • 6

Add a fluffy main beginning at the ears and zigzagging around the outside of the lion's face.

    • 7

Draw a tuft of hair at the top of the lion's head. Add a curved circle and a half circle underneath for the lion's nose.

    • 8

Add the lion's eyes above the nose. First, draw two long oval shapes onto the top of the nose. Add horizontal lines through the ovals for the eyelids. Draw eyeballs under the eyelids. Draw the lion's smile under the nose, beginning with a verticle line connecting nose to mouth.

    • 9

Fill in the color. Add pink to the inner ears and a light tan to the outer ears. Fill in the mane and the face with a darker tan color. Make the eyelids brown and the eyes blue. Fill in the nose with black color.
