The Ten Commandments provide others with the basic rules to follow in life. Learning the Ten Commandments and being able to recite them by heart takes time and effort, but it could provide great insight for a person on a daily basis. The Ten Commandments can be brought up in conversation to help someone through a struggle, or can be used during church to impress those around you.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Study one commandment a day. Read this commandment repeatedly until you can recite it from memory. Do this for all Ten Commandments.

  2. Step 2

Create a way to memorize the commandments. You can do so by relating to the commandments. For example, "Thou shalt obey thy Mother and thy Father," can be remembered when you think back to your rebellious years as a child.

  3. Step 3

Memorize the number of each commandment. Write down each commandment on a small strip of paper, place it in a hat, draw one out, and figure out which number that commandment is. Check your answers.

  4. Step 4

Hang a plaque of the Ten Commandments on your wall to remember them daily. Use them during speaking or writing when they are relevant to keep them in your mind.
