How to Use a Rotadent Toothbrush

Rota-dent toothbrushes provide a gentle but thorough cleaning that is similar to a professional teeth cleaning. Typically, Rota-dent toothbrushes come with several types of detachable brush heads. Ask your dentist which one is best for you. For example, pointed brush heads work well for those with braces or other dental appliances. Elongated tips work best for people with large gaps between their teeth. Hollow-cup heads can remove stains and polish teeth. If the brush head wears out, you can purchase replacement heads.

Instructions

    • 1

Charge your Rota-dent toothbrush fully before using for the first time. Typically, this takes 24 hours.

    • 2

Attach one of the detachable brush heads to the Rota-dent. To do this, hold the Rota-dent unit upright. Line up the hole in the neck of the brush head with the male connector on the Rota-dent unit, then push it into place.

    • 3

Squeeze a pea-sized amount of toothpaste onto the brush head if desired. If you choose to use toothpaste, use a gel. Cream toothpaste decreases the life of the brush head.

    • 4

Press the brush head against your gum line at a 90-degree angle. This allows for maximum surface coverage.

    • 5

Turn on the Rota-dent by pressing the power button. Slowly move the brush along the inside and outside gum lines, then move it across the top surfaces of your teeth. Do not scrub your teeth as you would with a normal toothbrush. The Rota-dent's cleaning action is most effective when used with very little pressure.

    • 6

Rinse the brush head when you finish and return the Rota-dent unit to its charging cradle.
