      Take a Segway Scooter tour to save time and energy. Zooming along on this upright motorized scooter is great for if you can't walk far or would just like to see things from a new perspective. You can park the scooter and visit attractions throughout the park.

      If you are looking for something a little more traditional, take a double-decker tour bus around the park. Buses tour the city of San Francisco and include Golden Gate Park as one of their stops. Hop off and on the bus at your leisure for one fee. Most bus tours start at Fisherman's Wharf and wind their way to the Park.

      Stop at various attractions throughout the park. You can see everything from American Bison roaming the plains at the Golden Gate Buffalo Paddock near Spreckles Lake, to historic windmills that once served as source of energy for the city of San Francisco. In February and March, a variety of tulips surround the windmills. Visit Strawberry Hill, the highest point of the Park, for amazing views of the city and surrounding area.

      Take time to smell the roses and other sweet smelling flowers at numerous gardens throughout the park. Hit the rose garden, the Botanical Garden, Queen Whilemina Tulip Garden and the Japanese Tea Garden, all free to visitors.

      The Conservatory of Flowers is a delightful stop to make while at the park as well. Its majestic white structure--complete with stained glass and colorful gardens surrounding the building--entices visitors inside for a better look at exotic floral displays, aquatic flowers and special exhibits. Tour guides are available for more information on the plants. There is a small admission fee to enter.

      Play sports such as baseball, basketball, soccer or volleyball in the park. Show off your skills at golf, archery or tennis. Rent a paddle boat; ride the lake with the ducks. While some activities require you to bring equipment, many locations throughout the park have equipment for rent.

      Enjoy some leisure time simply walking, running or biking riding through the park. Take your dog for a stroll at the dog park. Sip coffee at The Coffee to The People Cafe. If you have children, you may want to treat them to time at the Children's Playground or use the park as a classroom to teach your child about various wildlife and botany.
