1
Breakfast? Skip the expensive hotel option. Many bakeries have coffee, tea or hot chocolate to go. Buy a "pain au chocolat" and a hot cocoa. You're set. Just be sure to say "Bonjour Madame" or "Bonjour Monsieur" upon entering and "Merci Madame" or "Merci Monsieur" upon leaving. It's considered rude if you don't.

2
Lunch? Join the French at the local bakery. Order a sandwich and a soda. Ham and butter or ham and cheese is the normal choice. You can often try a dessert as well. Second option: You might ask your hotel when the local market is (it's usually twice a week). You can pick up fresh fruit, cheese, and bread.

Dinner? Do the American option. Monoprix(grocery store) is all over Paris. Cheese, bread, and ham will make a wonderful dinner. You can also pick up small dinners like quiche that you can reheat.
