Many people have problems sleeping, whether it be falling asleep, waking up frequently, not getting enough sleep. Below are suggestions to help achieve a better night's sleep.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Quiet/cool/dark bedroom.
  • Ability to quiet your mind.
  1. Step 1

Getting enough sleep is so important to your physical and mental health. Your body repairs and replenishes itself while you sleep. Having trouble sleeping can also be a medical condition called "sleep apnea", but this needs to be diagnosed by a doctor. For the purpose of this article, I am going to give you pointers to help you sleep better.

  2. Step 2

If you have a T.V. in your bedroom, turn it off when you go to bed! T.V. stimulates your mind and will keep you awake for hours.

  3. Step 3

Try to get some exercise in your day, this may help you sleep better. Just don't exercise right before bedtime, this may keep you awake with the adrenaline you get from exercise.

  4. Step 4

Drink some warm milk, take a warm bubble bath and relax your muscles. Don't have your room too hot, keep it on the cooler side. Get a sound machine or run a fan. The background noise can help you fall asleep and stay asleep.

  5. Step 5

If none of the above work, you can try over-the-counter sleep aids, but I would only do this as a last resort. If the problem gets too much to handle, the best thing to do is consult your physician. They can put you through sleep studies to diagnose your sleep disorder. A good night's sleep is important in order to function during your day. Sweet Dreams!
