A Motorola bluetooth headset is an affordable and user-friendly headset. To use a bluetooth headset with a cell phone, the user must first pair the headset and the cell phone with each other. This is a simple process whereby the headset and the phone are "introduced" to each other so that they can work together. After pairing, they will be able to detect each other and work together to enable hands-free use of the cell phone.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Charge the headset. Turn the headset off and insert the connecting plug into the end of the bluetooth headset. Leave the charger plugged into the headset until the light on the charger turns green. Disconnect the bluetooth headset and the charger.

  2. Step 2

Activate the cell phone's bluetooth ability. Find the bluetooth function within the menu settings and turn it to the "on" position.

  3. Step 3

Turn the bluetooth headset on. Most Motorola bluetooth headsets indicate they are ready for pairing with a steady blue light. Press the on button until the headset displays a steady blue light.

  4. Step 4

Direct the cell phone to look for bluetooth devices with which to pair. Within the bluetooth menu, find "Look for Devices."

  5. Step 5

Select the bluetooth headset when the cell phone detects it. Click the "OK" button when the cell phone confirms the pairing. Enter "0000" for the passkey when prompted. Click "OK."

  6. Step 6

Confirm the pairing. The headset indicator light should now be flashing blue and purple.
Test the pairing by making a call. Dial a number on the cell phone and make sure you hear the ringing and voice in your bluetooth headset.
