Add about a half-cup of vinegar to the toilet bowl to begin to use vinegar and baking soda to clean a toilet naturally. Let the vinegar sit for a few minutes before adding baking soda. Do not flush the toilet.

Add about a half cup of baking soda to the toilet bowl. The vinegar and baking soda will fizz because the reaction of vinegar and baking soda results in oxygen being released from the baking soda and vinegar combination. Let the mixture fizz for about ten minutes. This will alleviate the work you need to do later on to clean a toilet naturally.

Add another quarter cup baking soda and another half-cup vinegar to the toilet bowl in order to produce more fizzing in the toilet bowl.

Use the toilet brush to swish the water in the toilet bowl along with the vinegar and baking soda mixture. Rub the toilet brush along the sides and bottom of the toilet bowl to clean the toilet. You don't need to rub too hard, and you only need to use the toilet brush for about two minutes in the toilet bowl.

Flush the toilet. The vinegar and baking soda mixture will clean the tank and plumbing pipes without causing any damage. After the toilet flushes, rinse the toilet brush in the clean toilet water and flush the toilet again.
