Do you LOVE Caramel Popcorn but hate going to buy it at the store? This is a quick and very easy recipe how to make super yummy caramel corn.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Plain microwave popcorn or 5 cups of air popped corn.
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup dark corn syrup
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  1. Step 1

    First thing you need to do is add the butter, corn syrup, brown sugar, and salt to a large pot. Bring it to a boil. This will need to cook at a nice rolling boil for about 10 minutes. Keep a close eye on it though.

    Now as this caramel mixture is cooking, Pop the popcorn. Do not use butter flavor corn if using microwave corn, Be sure it is plain or just lightly salted. Preheat your oven to 300 degrees.

    Cover a cookie sheet pan with parchment paper or foil.

  4. Step 4

    Next, when the caramel mixture is done boiling after 10 minutes. Mix the popcorn in very well.

    Now spread the corn on the covered cookie sheet and place in the warm oven for about 10 minutes. Remove and let cool for 5 minutes.

  6. Step 6

    When cool enough to handle, Break it up into bite size pieces and enjoy!
    You can also add salted peanuts to the popcorn before adding the caramel to it. This makes for a little extra crunch and flavor to this yummy caramel corn.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be careful the caramel will burn you, It is hot like lava.
  • Be sure the corn is cooled a bit before breaking it up for consumption.

Homemade Caramel Corn would be great for the Halloween Parties coming up.
