If you are planning to make a pot roast with gravy, then be sure to incorporate my cheesy mashed potato recipe. If you love mashed potatoes, then you will absolutely love it with cheese.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Large Pot
  • Potatoes
  • Onions
  • Garlic
  • Milk
  • Butter
  • Bacon bits (optional)
  • Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  1. Step 1
    Boil Potatoes
     
    Boil Potatoes

    Determine how many potatoes you are going to need based on the number of people you will be serving. Wash potatoes, then place them potatoes in a pot and boil them until each potato is nice and tender and the skin is practically falling off.

  2. Step 2
    Chop Chop
     
    Chop Chop

    While you are waiting for your potatoes to boil you should begin chopping onions and garlic.

  3. Step 3

    When your potatoes are finished boiling and are cooled off you can begin to remove the skin.

  4. Step 4

    After the skin is removed begin to mash the potatoes until they are no longer potato shaped.

  5. Step 5
     

    Add a half stick of butter and 1/3 cup of milk (The amount you use depends on the amount you will be serving)

  6. Step 6
     

    Turn the burner on your stove to medium

  7. Step 7

    Mix the potatoes, butter and milk until the potatoes are no longer clumpy.

  8. Step 8

    Add the garlic and onions

    Cheddar Cheese
     
    Cheddar Cheese

    Stir in a ½ bag of cheddar cheese (preferably already shredded). Add more if necessary. Stir mashed potatoes until the cheese has melted.

    Seasoned Salt
     
    Seasoned Salt

    Add seasoned salt until you’re potatoes have reached the desired level of seasoning.

  11. Step 11
    Bacon Bits
     
    Bacon Bits

    Apply bacon bits as a topping for additional flavor (optional).
