Things You'll Need:
- 2 cups of rice
- 8 cups of chicken broth
- ground black pepper
- salt
- vegetable oil (for best results use sunflower oil)
- 1 big onion or 2 medium onions (preferably red)
- vegetables to taste (i like mine with red peppers)
- 1 chicken breast

Step 1

Add the two cups of rice in a strainer and rinse them with plenty of water. While this is not required, it will make your rice cooker rice pilaf a lot fluffier.
Add the two cups into the rice cooker and then add the four cups of chicken stock (or as required by the type of rice used) and start the cooker. -
Step 2

Peel the onions and chop them finely.
Put a non-stick pan(preferably a large one) on the stove on medium heat. -

Slice the chicken breast as finely as possible.
Tip: Careful when handling raw chicken; as you already know you need to wash your hands after handling chicken meat and preferably wash the dishes used. -

When the pan is hot add in the vegetable oil.
When oil becomes hot add in the chopped onions. Let them brown for a few minutes and then ad the sliced chicken breast. -
Step 5

Finely chop the peppers and add them to the stir fry.
Add salt and pepper to taste. -
Step 6

Continue to stir fry the mixture until it everything becomes slightly browned. -
Step 7

By this time the rice should have been cooked. Once the "Keep Warm" light of the rice cooker turns on you move the cooked rice from the cooker to the pan. -
Step 8

Mix the cooked rice with onion, chicken breast and pepper stir fry. -
Step 9

Turn the stove to high and add some more vegetable oil.
Fry the mixture for 5 minutes. -
Step 10
RICE PILAF WITH A RICE COOKER - STEP 10
Add the rest of the chicken broth and also 2 (two) cups of water. Let it simmer until it reduces.
Stir the mixture every 2-3 minutes. -
Step 11
RICE PILAF WITH A RICE COOKER - FINALLY
... and voila. Your pilaf made with precooked rice is ready.

on 9/17/2009 Thanks I was looking for some rice cooker recipes. I put a little butter in mine after it is done cooking and then stir some Italian Seasoning in to it. It is so easy and yet tastes so good.
