How to Prepare for the FE Exam

The FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) exam is the first of a two exams in which an engineer much take in order to become certified as a Professional Engineer. Anyone with an engineering degree can take the FE exam. You may also take the exam in your final year of college. The FE exam is an 8 hour exam with 4 hours dedicated to the morning and 4 to the afternoon along with 60 minutes for lunch in between. The morning session of the FE exam consists of 120 questions on general engineering. The afternoon session has 60 questions which are more specific to your major. Since the FE exam covers many topics that you might not have seen for a few years, it is critical that you prepare well for the exam.
