Find teaching jobs in Florida

Florida is a great state both live and work in. Unfortunately many people have trouble finding jobs there. Here is a systematic way to find teaching jobs in Florida.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Before you can find teaching jobs in Florida you need to make sure you're actually certified to teach there. Fortunately the Florida Department of Education as reciprocal agreements with many other states that allow you to transfer your license. For more information on being licensed in Florida go to the website at: http://www.fldoe.org/edcert/

  2. Step 2

School districts in Florida are generally laid out along county lines with few exceptions. You should begin your job search with the complete list of all school districts. You can print out this list from this website: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_school_districts_in_Florida

  3. Step 3

Once you have your list of school districts you need to begin to narrow down your options. Whether you want to work in large cities like Miami or Jacksonville or small towns or rural areas in the Panhandle a little research is in order. You can find whatever information you like to base your decisions on online. If you rule out certain school districts feel free to cross them off your list.

  4. Step 4

Now you can begin looking for jobs from the Department of Education website at http://www.teachers-teachers.com/florida/viewFloridaJobs.cfm . Click the drop-down arrow next to the submit button. Here you see each school district and how many available jobs they have on the website. Some school districts use this website and some school districts do not, therefore if a school has zero teaching jobs it may not use this site. If the school district does use the site to let them put a checkmark next to their name on your list. For these schools you can use this website exclusively.

  5. Step 5

If you want to find teaching jobs in Florida that are not listed on the prior website you need to check their district webpages one at a time. A Google search should be sufficient to find them. On their website look for a link or tab that says something along the lines of jobs or employment.

  6. Step 6

Another way to find teaching jobs in Florida that is becoming increasingly popular school districts is to use job finder websites such as monster.com . More and more people are having luck with this route.
