The first thing to do to turn on iPhone autofill is to turn on your iPhone. Making sure it's up to date with the latest and greatest software update is always wise, but isn't necessary to activate Safari autofill.

    • 2

Next, open the "Settings" app on your iPhone. This is on the first page of apps by default.

    • 3

From here in the Settings window, scroll down until you see the "Safari" icon and click this icon.

    • 4

In the Safari settings window, select "AutoFill".

    • 5

To enable autofill on the iPhone browser, you need to turn on the "Use Contact Info" switch.

    • 6

The last step is selecting an iPhone contact for autofill to pull information from. In most cases, you will want this to be your information and so you will need to create an iPhone contact with your information in it.

Once this is done, select the contact and autofill will not populate fields with this information.

    • 7

Also, you will see a "Names & Passwords" option in the Autofill settings. If you wish to allow the iPhone to remember your login/password for sites, enable this option.

Hit the "Clear All" button at any time to erase the login/passwords.

Tips & Warnings

  • Be careful when allowing iPhone autofill to remember passwords. Should you ever lose your phone, this could allow strangers to access your personal accounts. If you enable password autofill, be sure your iPhone is passcode protected.
