Sell Your Art On Ebay
Sell Your Art On Ebay

If you are an artist and you don't know where to start with the selling process, Ebay is the easiest and fastest way to get started selling.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer
  • Ebay account
  • Photobucket account
  • Paypal Account
  • Your Artwork
  • Camera
  1. Step 1

No matter what the medium, if you are an artist Ebay is the fastest way to get your art out there. If you don't have an Ebay account you will need to sign up to get one, chances are if you have zero or low feedback people will be a little leery of buying from you, so you should try to establish a few feedbacks before you try to sell anything yourself. Even if your purchase is a dollar you will still get feedback credit for it.

  2. Step 2

You will also need to sign up for a free Paypal account (this is how most people pay for items through Ebay) and also a Photobucket account to host your pictures since Ebay charges extra for additional pictures.

  3. Step 3

After you have your Ebay ID you will need to take pictures of your artwork, take many pictures, that way the chances of getting some really good photos are higher. Take different angels and also outside in natural evening light sometimes is best.

  4. Step 4

Upload all of your photos that you are going to use in your auction to your free Photobucket account.

  5. Step 5

To add your pictures to your auction you can click on the "HTML" tab at the top of your description in Ebay and copy the HTML code from underneath your picture on Photobucket and paste it in your description, you can click on the "Standard" tab again at the top to see if you did it right, you should see your picture there now.

  6. Step 6

Once you start listing your item you will need to add the pictures to your auction that you selected and also set a price, don't list your item for lower than what you are willing to take for it. Or if you are feeling really bold you can start your work out at .99 cents but don't get discouraged if your art doesn't sell right away. Give it time, there will be a collector out there somewhere waiting for just that piece!

  7. Step 7

Don't give up, it takes time to get a customer base built up enough to where people are watching and waiting for your artwork to come online!

Tips & Warnings
  • Putting multiple auctions on at the same time will up your chances of selling something.
  • You can also do a fixed price auction where they can "buy it now" at a certain price.
  • Don't price your artwork too high or you won't get any interest.
  • Remember you still owe your Ebay fees even if you don't sell anything.
