A nettop might be a great choice for your next computer.

Nettops are small, light, efficient computers, ideal for email, video watching or web surfing. They are great for the kitchen, living room, or anywhere you can use a 2nd, 3rd or 4th computer!

First, decide if you want a nettop with or without an attached screen. Those with attached screens are often called "All-In-One" nettops. A nettop that does not come with a screen can be attached to your existing monitor or even your tv.

You can choose a nettop with a Dual Core or Single Core processor. The single core Intel Atom processor of the moment is the N230 while the dual core is the N330.

Choose a single core if you just want a cheap, basic web surfing machine, and go for dual core if you're going to be watching more video and want to do some more computing.

You have a choice between integrated graphics, and discrete graphics. Discrete graphics are best for High Definition video watching.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can upgrade the RAM on many nettops yourself.
  • It is not possible to upgrade the graphics option after you buy a nettop (usually), so it might be beneficial to spend a little extra for that option when you purchase.
