Many people are familiar with the traditional cream cheese ball. A great variation to this classic is a blue cheese ball. Simply substituting blue cheese for a portion of the cream cheese gives it a very unique and flavorful taste. It's also easy to make! This makes a great appetizer for any party. Try it at your next party and your guests will surely be asking for the recipe.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 8oz package of cream cheese - softened
  • 4oz crumbled blue cheese - at room temperature
  • 2 tablespoons diced green onions, or minced onions
  • 2/3 cup chopped walnuts
  • 4 oz sliced green or black pitted olives, optional
  1. Step 1

    Take both the cream cheese and blue cheese out of the refrigerator and let them become room temperature.

  2. Step 2

    Combine the softened cream cheese, blue cheese, onions and olives by mixing together.

  3. Step 3

    Form the mixture into a ball.

  4. Step 4

    Roll the ball in the chopped nuts covering the entire outside of the blue cheese ball.

  5. Step 5

    Cover the blue cheese ball with plastic wrap, wrapping tightly.

  6. Step 6

    Refrigerate until thoroughly chilled. (Approximately one hour).

  7. Step 7

    Serve with crackers or your favorite bread and enjoy!

  8. Step 8

    Refrigerate any unused portion.
