How to Prevent Pre Menstrual Syndrome (PMS)

Women go through monthly cycles that sometimes interfere with their daily activities. Some women go through depression, have times where they are angry and some even have uncontrollable crying associated with their menstrual cycle. Women also will have severe cramps in their back, legs and lower abdomen. Some women don't even realize while they are moody that there mood is directly related to their menstrual cycle. There are over the counter medications and natural drugs that can help relieve the pain and moods associated with menstruation also called premenstrual symptom or PMS.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Begin keeping track of when your period is due. By keeping track you know when you are due and be aware if prementual symptoms do start and what is causing aches, pains, swelling or mood swings.

  2. Step 2

    Start taking St. Johns Wort according to the instructions a week before your menstrual cycle or period. St. John's Wort relieve symptoms of moodiness and helps to control anger, depression or mood swings caused by your menstrual cycle.

  3. Step 3

    Take Magnesium on the first day of your period. Magnesium levels have been proven to decrease and can increase your chances of headaches and other aches associated with your menstrual cycle.

  4. Step 4

    Take Calcium to relieve anxiety issues. Studies have indicated taking calcium alleviate it.

  5. Step 5

    Pamprin is an excellent choice for women that have irritability during their period. Pamprin has an ingredient in it that helps relieve cramps as well.

  6. Step 6

    Stretching exercises like yoga and pilates are beneficial. Regular exercise like aerobics or walking can reduce premenstrual syndrome too.

  7. Step 7

    Drink lots of water and eat foods that act as a diuretic such as apples or drinking green tea. These will help relieve bloating.
