The Bacon Cheese Ring is a favorite among family and friends. It makes a great appetizer and has been proven to be a hit at parties. I have been making this recipe for close to fifteen years. I have to say there is never any leftovers. This is one of the easiest recipes you will ever make. Anyone can make it.

The sweet taste of the strawberry jelly coupled with the spicy taste of the bacon cheese ring is the best.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 12 ounce bacon.
  • 1 pound extra sharp cheddar cheese, shredded.
  • 2 cups of mayonnaise.
  • 1 bunch of green onions.
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper.
  • 1/2 cup of slivered almonds.
  • 1 jar of strawberry jelly.
  • Crackers - Townhouse or your favorite cracker.
  • Jello mold.
  • Parchment paper.
  • Cookie sheet.
  1. Step 1

    Cook, drain and crumble bacon.
    Remove tops of green onions.
Bake almond slivers at 350 degrees on cookie sheet for about 5-7 minutes. (Line cookie sheet with parchment paper for best results).
    Lightly oil Jello mold.

  2. Step 2

Mix ingredients excluding the almond slivers in large mixing bowl.
Line Jello mold with roasted almond slivers.
Spoon remaining ingredients evenly into Jello mold.

  3. Step 3

Cover mold and refrigerate for twenty-four hours.
After refrigerated, dump onto platter or decorative plate. Place strawberry jelly in middle of ring. Garnish plate with Townhouse or your favorite crackers.

Tips & Warnings
  • 1 pound = 4 cups of shredded cheddar cheese.
  • Easier to use prepackaged shredded cheese.
  • To make a lower fat version, use low fat cheddar cheese and low fat mayo.
  • Spicy
  • Be aware of food allergies
