Step 1
Find a meteor shower schedule.
You can find meteor shower schedules on nearly any webpage dealing with astronomy, weather channels, and often even the news. Find a meteor schedule and mark the days on your calendar so that you will remember to stay up and watch the night sky on those dates. -
Step 2
Pack warm clothes, and/or a blanket.
A sleeping bag and some blankets are also not a bad idea when trying to watch a meteor shower; it can get quite cold lying on the ground at night. Hot cocoa is not a bad idea either! -
Step 3
Grab a friend, the kids, or a date.
A meteor shower is always more fun when you can share it with someone. A meteor shower makes for a great date opportunity, and kids love the light show as well. -
Step 4
Lay out under the stars.
The best hours to watch a meteor shower are between 11 p.m. and 3 a.m. Find a dark place away from porch and city lights, and enjoy the meteor shower.
