Blisters are the skins way of saying enough already, I give up. too much friction in a certain area. Especially with new or too tight shoes, exercise or work. the area needs a break to heal. This article is intended for foot blisters but can be used for treatment on all friction blisters. Some people believe in pricking a blister and some do not because risk of infection. With proper care and dressing it is more practical to relieve the pressure off the blister for most people.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Needle
  • Mole skin available at most drugstores.
  • Gauze dressing.
  • Medical tape.
  • Neosporin (antibiotic).
  • Footpowder.
  • Footie socks.
  1. Step 1

After you have used a sterilized needle and swabbed the area with alcohol pads, using the moleskin cut into the shape of a drought making sure that the hole in the middle is large enough to encircle the blister, preventing future friction.

  2. Step 2

Sterilize the area and lance the blister with needle. Please do not sterilize with a lighter this leaves carbon on the needle an adds a risk of infection. Squeeze out the fluid and dry area. then place mole skin around blister.

  3. Step 3

Keep the skin on the blister. More fluid may build while the bandage is on, but it is less painful to reliance the blister than to pull gauze that has dried to the area.

  4. Step 4

Put some Neosporin on the blister and cover with gauze pad and tape into place. give the area a rest. Remove it nightly and allow air to get to it and dry.

Tips & Warnings
  • Keep your sox on and powder feet.
  • If the bandage gets wet consider it contaminated and change dressing right away.
