Selecting the right piece of carry-on luggage is not as simple as you think. You need to know several facts before you buy any piece of luggage.

1. First you need to check out the type of luggage that you already have in order to determine the type of luggage you will select. Color coordination along with type of materials is very important.

2. Lay out the things that you are going to be packing and see if they will fit into the correct size needed for a carry-on. Check with the airport the size that you are going to be allowed to use as a carry-on. Do not assume that their is a normal size but check first.

3. When you are about to select your carry-on make sure that you measure the outside of the luggage this is what the airport will determine as the size of your baggage. Many retailers now give you the inside measurement which will not work when you need to carry the luggage with you. The outside can be much bigger than expected not fitting under neath your seat. You will then have to check your luggage and wait for it when you arrive to your destination.

• Checking the size allowed is very important before you buy.
• Check the outside size of the carry-on and use that size.
• Select a carry-on that is similar in color and materials of all the other luggage pieces that you already have so your wardrobe will match.
• Make sure you have the right size luggage from measuring the outside not the inside.
• Make sure you can lock your luggage even though you are going to carry it with you.
