This is perfect for college students or for those who have just moved and can't find a toaster to make one at home.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Iron
  • tin foil
  • bread
  • cheese
  • butter
  1. Step 1

Turn your iron on. It's best if you turn it on to the highest setting, like Linen, or cotton.

  2. Step 2

Roll out a piece of tin foil long enough to cover an entire sandwich. Don't worry about the tin foil ruining your iron, it wil be perfectly safe.

  3. Step 3

Butter two pieces of bread, making sure to only butter one side of each piece. Place buttered slices on tin foil, buttered-side DOWN.

  4. Step 4

Add cheese to the bread, as much as you prefer, or as little.

  5. Step 5

Once you've added the cheese, fold the tin foil over the bread, so it is covering the entire sandwich.

  6. Step 6

Press the iron to the tin foil, and let it sit, generally for about 30 seconds. Peel back the tin foil to check to see if it's toasted. Flip the sandwich over and repeat. Keep repeating until your sandwich is just the way you want it. And VOILA!! A grilled cheese sandwich, hot of the iron.

Tips & Warnings
  • Remember, generally heat your iron to it's highest setting for maximum effectiveness and less time spent trying to cook it.
  • 30 seconds is a good time limit for cooking it, but if necessary, perhaps a minute for each side.
