If the total value of these items exceeds $2000, then you do not qualify. However, senior citizens can have up to $3000. Certain income restrictions may also apply.

3. Apply for Food Stamps. Go to your local social security office and apply there. Anyone can apply, whether they meet the requirements or not. The food stamp office is where you will submit the application. You can use food stamps in many places to get food for your family and household.
