No one likes to have the "runs." It is such a bother and it is painful in the abdomen too. Since you are stuck at home anyway, here is what you should eat all day in order to get your body back on track. It is called the B.R.A.T. Diet. Have you ever heard of it? It is an accrostic that stands for Bananas Rice Applesauce Toast. Helps to remember it easier. This Diet has been used for years by Moms for their kids and even by adults for themselves. It works for our family. Try it, but always check with your Doctor before trying anything new!!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Bananas
  • Rice
  • Applesauce (not Apple juice or Apples)
  • Toast (unbuttered)
  1. Step 1

Eat a half a banana several times a day.

  2. Step 2

Eat rice that is made with chicken broth instead of plain water.

  3. Step 3

Eat Applesauce (no cinnamon as this can cause itching in the anal area). Do NOT eat fresh Apples or Apple Juice either which will only make your symptoms worse----ONLY Plain Applesauce!

  4. Step 4

Eat dry unbuttered toast with a little jelly on it so you can get it down easier.

  5. Step 5

These are foods that will help your colon bulk up. No fresh fruit! REST a lot! Good Luck and Good Health.

Tips & Warnings

  • I am not a Doctor and don't claim to be. These suggestions usually work for normal diarrhea problems.
  • Always check with your Doctor before trying anything new!!
  • See a Doctor if your symptoms worsen or you are getting dehydrated!!!
