Watch Perseid Meteor Shower
Watch Perseid Meteor Shower

Watch the Perseid Meteor Showers around August 12 by using this step by step guide.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

First, find the peak time to watch the meteor shower.

For example, tonight the peak time to watch the meteor shower will be 10pm-midnight. There will be more than 250 meteors per hour.

  2. Step 2

    Next, pick a darker location.

Try to minimize your exposure to artificial light, as from cities. However, the perseid meteors are very bright so you might even be able to catch some meteors in the downtown of a major city! Also, don't forget to dress warm if you are outside!

  3. Step 3

Next, grab a constellation map and map out the approximate location of the meteor shower. For the perseid meteors this will be near the Perseus constellation.

  4. Step 4

Bring a comfortable chair to sit in, warm clothes for the night, any cameras you may need and a headlamp or flashlight to help guide you as you wander to your location to watch the meteor shower!

  5. Step 5

Look above, behind and to the sides of you! Enjoy the meteor shower!
