Here is a easy recipe for homemade soft pretzels that just about anyone can do.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 4 cups flour
  • 2 packages dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon table salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 and a half cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • kosher salt
  • cooking spray
  1. Step 1

    Preheat oven to 450 degrees. In a large mixing bowl dissolve two packages of yeast in one and a half cups of warm water. Stir until yeast is completely dissolved.

  2. Step 2

    After yeast has dissolved completely add in one teaspoon table salt,two tablespoons sugar and four cups of flour. Mix together until dough becomes smooth. Cover bowl and let dough rise for thirty minutes or until dough doubles in size.

  3. Step 3

    Divide dough into twelve equal sections. With the palm of your hand roll each section of dough into a twelve inch long rope and shape into pretzels.

  4. Step 4

    Lightly spray cookie sheet with cooking spray. In a small bowl beat one egg. Place pretzels on cookie sheet. Brush pretzels with beaten egg and then sprinkle kosher salt on pretzels. Bake at 450 degrees for ten minutes.
