How to Make Wonderful Smelling Gel Air Fresheners

Let's face it, commercial air fresheners don't smell that great. They are often chemically or overly sweet and often just cover a bad smell, rather than eliminate it. Gel air fresheners have the appearance of having a lit candles in the room, but there's no smoke or fire hazard to deal with. You can create your own gel air freshener using perfume or fragrance oils and in effect save money while using something more effective than those in stores.

Things You'll Need

• Plastic spoon
• 3 cups gel wax
• 25 drops perfumed oil of the scent of your choice
• 24 oz. glass candle jar
• Ceramic heating plate

Instructions

1. Spoon three cups of gel wax into the candle jar, leaving 1 inch of space at the top.

2. Add 25 drops of fragrance oil or perfume to the gel in the jar.

3. Sit the jar on top of your ceramic candle heater and power it on. Let the gel melt, which should take about five minutes.

4. Stir up the gel and oils using the plastic spoon.

5. Turn off the ceramic heater.
